For the duration of the renovation of the parliament building, three temporary replacement buildings were erected on Heldenplatz and in the library courtyard of the Hofburg as alternative quarters. After completion in April 2017 and the subsequent move out of Parliament, parliamentary work took place in the temporary quarters from summer 2017 until the beginning of 2023.

At the end of 2022, the renovation of the Austrian Parliament in Vienna was successfully completed and in January 2023, the completely renovated Parliament was ceremoniously opened.

The temporary parliament building at Heldenplatz had thus fulfilled its function and could then be disassembled and completely removed.

In terms of sustainability and value retention, the modular components from Lukas Lang Building Technologies are reused in other projects.
