Museumsquartier Summer Stage
For the project located in the courtyard of the Museumsquartier in Vienna, to explore alternative possibilities of urban areas in times of climate change, a temporary installation by the architectural office OpenFields is being erected in metal construction.
Over the course of the summer, climatically resilient plants cover the stage in increasingly dense vegetation. The new green place of communication offers three distinct zones, each featuring unique vegetation: An “urban garden” with various fruits and vegetables, a “sunbathing meadow” with tall grass for relaxing, and a “Little Stage” with seating and plants, and opportunities for exchange and dialogue.
