Competition 1st prize – Campus for Education and Science of the Diocese of Linz
The construction of the new educational campus for education and science of the Diocese of Linz will have a total area of 25,000 m², of which 8,000 m² will be for new premises.
The existing building was built between 1970 and 1975 according to plans by architects Franz Riepl and Othmar Sackmauer and is a listed building. In an open, anonymous, EU-wide and two-stage competition, the architectural office Atelier Thomas Pucher was able to convince the expert jury chaired by architect Roland Gnaiger with its project.
From 2026, a modern educational campus for educational professions, theology, philosophy and art studies, social care and social pedagogy will be built at the foot of the Freinberg in Linz.
