The House of Brands is the administrative heart of the KTM company in Munderfing, Upper Austria.
The architecture of the building with office areas, a multifunctional space on the ground floor and lounge areas, follows the company’s demand for openness and intensive exchange. The office areas face each other in two concave “reinforced concrete arches” and are connected by bridges and stairs in an open atrium. The atrium with its glass facades and continuous curved glass roof represents the center of the building.
Different distances and angles of inclination of the continuous “lamellas” of this “glass ribbon” ensure sufficient daylighting and shading in all areas. Elements for cooling are integrated into the slender geometry of the structure, as are ventilation ducts and outlets, lighting and points for suspending presentation objects. The facades were designed in an intentionally reduced manner, their construction – up to the shaping of the profiles – consistently follows the main design lines, and conveys the high design standards of the motorcycle manufacturer KTM as soon as you enter the building.
