Webcam – Watch construction progress in Graz

The future new university building – Graz Center of Physics – will be organized over six upper floors and two basement floors and offer two major highlights: A city terrace, which is also accessible via external stairs, and five wood-clad lecture halls on the ground floor.

Sustainability has been a priority right from the start of the project; the GCP is being built in accordance with the certification system for sustainable construction (ÖGNI).

Special hollow-core slabs reduce concrete consumption and are also used for thermal component activation for heating and cooling. Geothermal energy is used to heat and cool the building, with 162 geothermal probes drilled up to 150 meters deep into the ground.
