Sustainability Award – Austrian Pavilion at EXPO 2025 in Osaka, Japan

The spiral sculpture of the Austrian Pavilion at EXPO 2025 in Osaka impressed the award jury with its “screws instead of glue” construction principle.

The entire timber structure can be completely dismantled and subsequently reused in line with the principles of circular economy. This construction method enables the sustainable use of materials even after Expo 2025 and contributes to reduction of CO₂ .
