St. Peter’s Church, St. Stephen’s Cathedral and the festive pre-Christmas Graben in downtown Vienna: The werkraum ingenieure team enjoys the magnificent 360° view from above when visiting the construction site. The Erste Bank building on Graben in Vienna’s city centre is being refurbished according to the plans of A2K Architects, werkraum ingenieure is responsible for the structural design.

Schönbrunn Zoo has had one more attraction since autumn! An aviary for swallow-tailed parakeets was built at the entrance to the Neptune Fountain. Just as for the recently completed kiosk in the baroque ambience of the zoo, the architectural design is by Wehdorn Architekten, the structural design for the concrete building by werkraum ingenieure and the statics of the steel structure and the ropes of the aviary by Rudolf Brandstötter -tragwerkstatt.

YF architects were able to convince the top-class jury – Dieter Henke and Hermann Kaufmann – with their competition entry. For the structural design of the extension of the HTL Anichstraße in Innsbruck, the architects relied on the know-how of werkraum ingenieure.

The artist Maruša Sagadin created a work of art entitled ‘stairs – stage – stands. The lying imprint.’ for the square of the forgotten fire brigades in Göpfritz an der Wild in the region Waldviertel. The monument and architectural object was presented this September and can be used as social street furniture for everyone.

The international jury of the Barbara Cappochin International Architecture Prize met this summer in July in Padua and presented the winning projects 2019. Together with the award winning architectural office fasch&fuchs.architekten, we are delighted that the Federal School Aspern was able to convince the biennial jury!

After an architectural competition won with fasch&fuchs.architekten and the start of construction in spring 2018, the crest tree of the topping out ceremony adorned the future school building in early summer 2019. At the beginning of 2020, the premises of the school in Vorarlberg will produce a cheerful sound of children’s noise again, and in accordance with the new concept, not only morning classes will take place in this elementary school. The shell has already been completed and the building will be supplemented with the interior in the coming months.

Classes will be held in the new facility as early as autumn 2020. After winning the competition with PPAG Architects, the planning work for the school extension in Längenfeldgasse started in 2017. The structural design for all work phases – including the excavation pit and test engineer according to the Viennese building regulations – comes from werkraum ingenieure.

The construction of the International Campus Vienna is making rapid progress. Following the start of construction work in the first quarter of 2019, a further milestone of the bilingual education campus has already been reached: the official roof-same celebration. In September 2019, the campus on Vienna’s southern city border will open.

72 projects were submitted to the Lower Austrian Timber Construction Prize 2019. An eight-member jury of experts selected the best-realized objects from these and selected five winners. gaupenraub+/- und werkraum ingenieure were among the lucky prizewinners, who were able to convince the jury with their conversion and refurbishment project for the former mill „Würzlmühle“ and happily welcome the winner’s trophy.

The spectacular exhibition centre KTM Motohall in Mattighofen was opened in a ceremonial act on May 9th and with a big event this weekend. Governor Thomas Stelzer titled the new museum in Upper Austria at the opening: “A project of world format”.
