New Hietzing Clinic in Vienna

At the heart of the modernization is the construction of a new central hospital that brings all medical services under one roof. At the same time, historic buildings—some of which are listed—will undergo careful refurbishment and adaptation. The entire project will be carried out in several construction phases—while the hospital remains in service—from 2026 to 2039.

Implementing the project requires high standards of planning and construction with regard to

• the construction of a central hospital while the hospital remains in service
• ensuring uninterrupted medical care throughout all construction phases
• rebuilding large parts of the energy supply system while the hospital remains in operation
• combining new construction with the renovation of historically protected structures
• a complex, multi-stage construction process
