MKKD – spectacular construction progress

The conversion of the listed foundry hall in Ingolstadt into a modern museum is a challenging task: the future art museum will be built underneath the existing building as a newly inserted below-ground floor.

The current construction progress is particularly exciting in its appearance: the entire brick hall stands jacked up on ‘our’ pillars.

This sight of a hall that is almost hovering is likewise a remarkable moment for the eyes of our structural engineers, because soon – with the creation and completion of the floor slab – this moment of strength will soon no longer be visible.

Our photos capture these moments and document it for the construction history of the future MKKD.
